A tagalog news report from a local tabloid carried this article:
Bush Avoids Gloria (Macapagal-Arroyo)
US President George Bush refused to receive calls from President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and may continue avoiding any meetings with her during the Asia-Pacific Economic Conference summit to be held in Chile.
This was noticed by some US observers who said that the American government was clearly disappointed with the recent Philippine elections which was worse than the one in Indonesia and did not promote democracy well in the country.
This report came from high officials belonging to some Filipino groups who went to Washington DC in order to lobby for US support during the past week.

The news article then mentioned those "US observers" some of which come from groups opposed to the Macapagal-Arroyo government. Included here are the likes of Edgardo Angara and Francisco Tatad who were both Senators when President Erap Estrada was ousted from government.
Hmmm... I wonder whether those so called "US observers" just went to Washington in order to promote their vested interests in Philippine politics by besmirching the Arroyo government.
